I live in Denmark.
I don’t know if you know, but during wintertime Denmark tends to get rather grey and rainy for longer stretches of time (but during summer it’s light until late at night – and I love that).
Still sometimes the dull climate can get a little frustrating and THAT is where spontaneous short trips come in.
This one led me to Alicante, Spain with my better half and we had an amazing long weekend with loads of filming, climbing and most importantly: sunshine.
Alicante is a great holiday destination for everyone who wants to fuel up on a bit of sunshine during the cold winter (and, let’s be honest, spring) months.
And for those who are interested in combining a city trip with an active holiday – maybe even on a weekend trip.
In just 4 days we strolled through Alicante’s cozy streets, ate tapas and drank red wine. We hiked a bit in the beautiful Guadalest Valley and climbed a route of 120 meters in Calpe, followed by a ridge walk. And in the end, we still had more than half a day of sunshiny goodness left in Alicante city, where we enjoyed breakfast outside and a walk on the beach (it felt like May in February).
With this video I want to show you that you do not have to travel far and it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to get out and see a bit of this beautiful world AND I want to tell you why I think it’s so important to take little trips to new places every now and then.
Sometimes we just need a bit of adventure and getting a bit of distance and a change of scenery for a few days can work wonders at times.
Check out the video if you’re looking for some inspiration to get out there yourself and to book your next trip.
Happy Travels – and let me know what you think!
