“Notice the people who are happy for your happiness, and sad for your sadness. They’re the ones who deserve special places in your heart.”

I’ve always found, that you learn a great deal about the people close to you by whether or not they are truly happy for you, when things go right. As it turns out, you learn even more about them, when things go wrong. Yes, you may get disappointed by somebody that you thought would be a better friend. But you’ll also find that some people care much more about your happiness, than you initially thought. And, of course, that you can still count on the ones who always did.

The friend that hugs you really tight and says, that it’s going to be alright.

The friend that makes inappropriate jokes about the situation to take some weight off your shoulders.

The friend that is there when you ask her to, but will leave you alone if you don’t.

The friend that even though you haven’t spoken for ages, says the right thing at the right time.

The friend that texts “love you” early in the morning, to let you know she’s there, even though she’s far away.

The friend that takes you out for drinks and lets you say all the things, that shouldn’t be said.

The friend that drops everything to come talk it over – for the 17th time.

The friend that comforts you for a bit and then (rightfully so) tells you to suck it up.

The friend that cries with you, when they see that you’re hurting.

The friend that is there through it all, as if your bad days were her bad days.

You are priceless.
